Over the past two years we have been involved in varies support project on the island, such as  Micro Loans to Villagers in need, as well as the plantation of more than 150  trees along the roads on the island after they have been cut down to make way for  electricity pylons.

One of the most urgent and pressing Projects is the renovation of Ban Bang Sai School in the village next door.  

This school has surely seen better days, and because of this La Folie Lodge has incorporated its renovation in to its community program from November 2009 onwards. We are sponsoring the rebuilding and refurbishment with 1$ for every 10 $ collected.  For this we need your help and we are appealing to you, our guests, to help generously with donations.  The distribution of accumulated funds is done under control of La Folie and will only be used to purchase the necessary materials. The work will be carried out by the parents themselves!  Donators, if they wish, can enter their names and addresses in a book so that, at a later date, they will receive information on the work executed.  A special collection Box is situated in the Lounge next to the restaurant. Please help, any amount is welcomed. You will find below a list of costs and an update of funds collected up to now.
If you feel like it, you can visit the school and the children will welcome you open heartedly.

The list of prices below will give you an idea of the funds needed and show you how little it takes to improve the condition of children at school on the island, and in Laos in general.

We at La Folie have pledged 1 $ for every 10 dollars donated by our clients. Like this, we can invest in the future and give back something for the hospitality and smiles we all encounter every day. The project aims to involve the villagers and parents as much as possible, and therefore, they will carry out all the labour needed to provide their children with a new school. The list below show’s only the cost of materials.
