The only dispensary of the island, located in the middle of the island, was built in 1995 and suffered from the hard weather conditions through the years, as well as the lack of proper medical equipment and training for its 4 nurses.
Started in 2013, the guests and the lodge covered the cost of about USD 15,000 for the project : complete renovation of the building inside and out, adding proper toilets and shower, refurbishing, buying medical equipment and training of the medical staff.
The labor to carry out the construction work was done by voluntaries from the island, allowing an opening of the renovated dispensary in November 2015.
