Ban Simungkhoun is a small village located South from the Lodge on Done Daeng island. In 2009, after the Kitsana storm brought devastation to the island, the wooden school was almost collapsing.
The project started in 2009, with the guests donations of USD 9,781 and the lodge completing the remaining USD 2,440 needed to buy all the materials.
The voluntary villagers completed the project with the labor work needed, and the new concrete school was finally open in November 2013.
