A house worth keeping.
In 2016, a traditional wooden house in a neighbouring village
was about to be demolished. La Folie Lodge acquired it and
moved it to a new home beside the Mekong.
Restored and furnished for a comfortable stay, Ban Lao retains
the character of Southern Lao architecture. A queen bed, a
separate lounge and a large private terrace make it a
distinctive place to stay on Don Daeng.

Your private terrace
Room to linger.
The covered terrace looks across the Mekong towards the
hills on the opposite bank. Settle into a wooden armchair
with your morning coffee, or return in the afternoon as the
light moves across the water.
Inside, timber walls and floors, woven textiles and warm
lamplight give the house its familiar, lived-in feel.
The separate lounge offers a place to read or sit
between outings.

space to settle in. Tea and coffee are close at hand;
